Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why do business with Buckeye Medical Waste instead of another company?
A. B.M.W. is a relatively small, locally owned company. Our size allows us to provide our customers with the very best of pricing and quick response to customer requests. We are a customer-driven organization. Most customers start using our service because of price. They stay with us because of service.
Q. How is Buckeye Medical Waste able to offer lower prices?
A. At B.M.W., we keep a tight rein on expenses and pass part of the savings along to our customers. Our customers don't help pay for a corporate jet or 10 regional vice presidents.
Q. What's your track record?
A. B.M.W. has never been cited for any infractions of rules and regulations by any regulatory agency (EPA, OSHA, DOT, ETC.). Few companies can make that claim.
Q. Do you have references?
A. B.M.W. services some of the most well-respected practices in Central Ohio. We will be happy to supply references upon request.
Q. Assuming I'm happy with the price for your service, what other charges can I expect to see on your invoice.
A. None. Our profit is built into the charge for pickup of each box of waste. B.M.W. never builds in sneaky, extra profit charges like fuel surcharge, documentation fee, etc.
Q. How often is waste collected?
A.

We believe the customer is priority. Our clients tell us when they want their waste collected. Some prefer a regular scheduled pickup. Others prefer to call us when they are ready.

Q. Most companies charge extra for unscheduled pickups. How much do you charge?
A. Nothing. There are never extra charges for visiting a client at their convenience. It's called "Customer Service".
Q. Who provides the containers?
A. EPA approved boxes and liners are provided by us at no charge to the customer. Our only request is that they be used solely for the collection of infectious waste.
Q. Do I have to sign a contract?
A. Most organizations prefer a contract in order to price protect themselves. The length of the contract varies and can be as long as 1 to 3 years. For the skeptical, we offer a 90 day "Test Drive". You can try our service for 3 months to see if we deliver on our promises. Then, if you're satisfied with B.M.W. and wish a contract, then one can be executed.
Q. How can I be sure my waste is disposed of in the proper manner?
A. Good question. Many waste generators don't realize their liability for infectious waste does not end when it is picked up, but when it is appropriately destroyed. B.M.W. is fully insured and bonded and only uses destruction facilities operated by companies who do business in Ohio and are familiar with the Ohio EPA regulations.

For instance, B.M.W. will not take any waste to Kentucky because it is our understanding that there are no requirements for treatment of waste. It can be put into a landfill that would not meet with Ohio EPA standards. If untreated waste were to become an issue, there could be ramifications for both the generator and the transporter. It may be cheaper to do it that way, but it would be neither ethical or legal. We provide a destruction certificate to our clients for each pickup we do.
Q. What about billing?
A. We invoice each customer on the first of the month and expect payment by the 15th of the month.
Q. How do I get started?
A. It's easy. Go to "Request A Quote" at the top of this page or call Chuck at (614) 560-7291. I'll stop by (at your convenience, of course) with supplies and give you any additional information you require.
